Alright. Let's end it, right here. No more new members!
We have close to 40 active members at this point. That's absolutely massive. Rather than recruiting new ones every week, can we please, please, PLEASe, close off recruiting, and begin working on raising the average skill level of all of our new recruits? People like Hypnos still haven't gotten the training they need! Most clans average around 12 members tops. Here we have an active forum so it's more manageable, but 40 is still huge.
Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?

Agreed; Higher member count = lower skill average untill they improve as a whole.

This is arguable.
1. Having a large group of members confirms our survival.
2. Would an army stop recruiting because it thinks it has enough people for a battle? HELL NO..Remember there are casualties in battles, as there are casualties in HT..People will leave this clan.
3. What if someone with great skills wanted to join? Where do you draw the line?
If we do not have enough people to manage the roster, then we need to increase the number of managers, and/or get rid of the ineffective managers of this clan and replace them with competent managers. They are only lower skilled because they have yet to get the opportunity to get better. The only way they will get better is if people in this clan help them. No helpers=fail.
Better solution: Do not recruit inexperienced people for now. Only recruit those with lots of experience. By doing that, you will relieve the pressure of training lesser skilled people.
There is no size limit for QS. We can be successful regardless of how big or small we are.

The one thing I'd disagree with, Sneaky, is that armies will absolutely slow down on recruitment during peace time. History proves 2 things. All armies, with no outward enemy, will eventually turn inward, and all armies are essentially rapist. This is not a good combo. But that's just a tidbit. Still I think it's important to limit the number of members. I'm actually qualifying now, not agreeing outright. Your Better Solution wins in my book. Let's just focus on recruiting mature, intelligent players with above average skill levels. That way we raise the average level of the clan. The one thing about no size limit, I just want to say something. Sneaky, as you and I have talked about, one of the very attractive things about QS and one of our strengths is that we're all so close. We know each other on a more intimate level than most trialers know each other. If we make the clan too large, do we risk perhaps losing the image, and even the reality, of a close-knit family?

hmm not really, we'll still have that family clan image. I mean at least 25-30 of members are pretty aquianted to the clan and it's members (and that's pretty good tbh). I at least say, the 15 other members are either new to trial, or barely joined qs and don't know not many ppl in it just yet.
I do agree upon limiting the recruit of more newbies in qs, it's already hard enough to get aquianted with the recent new members of qs and training them in the inclans.
I say for now, we pick up the standards a tad bit more for any other people who want to be recruited in qs.

LOL Pickle! If that happened, we would just have a shit load of inclans and tourneys!

I know-double post. But I want to say just one thing.
It is a dream of mine that for every new kid that installs Halo Trial, that within minutes of playing online he hears about us. What he will hear is that we are a great clan. A powerful clan. A place that he will feel like he is really part of something. A clan that can be like a family for him.
I don't want anyone to be denied the opportunity to become part of what we have. What we are.

And LOL TRUE, we would jut have more inclans xDDD. But I really just meant that from a historical perspective. Large standing armies have been a notorious issue. Sneaky, may I just say that while I agree this big clan thing has its merits, the active trial population is getting so small that eventually we're going to hold half the active trialers just in QS. At that point, consider that a split may need to happen. It's just ridiculous to be that proportionally big.

If that is the case then we would become more split into, say, 'patrols'. so we have the big clan, but in the clan are smaller sections, something like scrimming teams. Good idea bad idea? And about recruiting more, perhaps you could ask one of those Machinima people to mention HT in a youtube video? That would make the HT population SOAR once again, IMO. And maybe they could even mention QS

I am not an idiot folks- I have lead QS since day one, and I have seen a lot of people come and go. I know when I see a natural leader..Someone that has the capability to come up with great ideas, that are actually possible to help build this clan! I knew long ago, that behind all of his goofy posts, was a serious individual that could highly benefit our clan.
