(site managers read) How to approve accounts

Everyday 1 or 2 new accounts try to sign in on qs site. Whenever i'm gone for a day, i come back seeing people who have been waiting since the day before to sign in on qs site.

Back then when we were actually competing with r3, i would see a pending accounts who had been waiting for a day, then later see that the same people make a account in r3 site and made intro 1st to their site. Why? Most of the time r3 has more members with admin rights, thus making them be able to approve their accounts faster before we do.

When star was site manager, he was able to do this also (not as perfect), but i'll teach you all how to do this.

Go to "admin",
"Manage members"
,Under "search members" usually there is a section that's called "view pending accounts" (Note: it ONLY comes up if someone new is trying to sign in on qs site. So this section won't be there all the time)

Now don't approve their accounts right away, 1st copy and paste their IP, then go to "search members", put ip under "search by ip address". IF nothing comes up, then approve. Now if some other account comes up, then deny"

It's alot to do to approve one member but its necessary due to many people trying to make fake accounts and trust me i've caught many by doing this.


P.S. if you see one new member with a suspicious email, then let me know about it before approving. Ex: I remember when i banned eden, minutes later he tried making a fake account with a proxy ip that had a obvious email having the word "spam" in it.

c mon guys -_- i came back today, i see pending accounts since the 15th. One of them obviously wants to join qs, since i see a application on xfire
Either way there shouldn't be accounts pending this long...

U all need to at least check if there's pending accounts once or twice a day..
